Peach Pie

Sunday, August 06, 2017

Hello again! We have the best recipe for Peach Pie today! It's like an american pie we saw on TV. Yum yum! Let's do it! It's summer now and we have a lot of fresh fruit, that can't be wasted! And we love fruit desserts, we went to our local farmers market and bought some peaches today. Those local ones are the best! But still, in winter we use peaches from can to do this pie and it's also delicious!

First - the crust. It's easy to make, but has a lot of fat. There's butter and margarine also. So the recipe isn't fit... but tastes amazing and it's worth to sin. ;) And the crust needs 1 hour in refrigerator to cool, so we can pin out the dough, it's adherent to the rolling pin when not cooled. Those are little disadvantages of this pie. But that's the end, nothing more. Then only perfect taste and consistency!

The top of the pie should be just rolled out and put on the top of the peaches. But we wanted to try someting new, why not? We rolled out the dough, cut out a few stars in it (like for the little cookies) and put on the peaches. We loved the effect we got! Maybe it'll stay with stars for every time from now on.

The most important here now - PEACHES! We used fresh fruit this time, but in winter canned will be good too. We didn't peel them, just washed and chop every peach on 8 pieces. They have amazing colour and taste. We mixed them with cinnamon, sugar and pudding powder. When the pie is in the oven, peaches let out their juices and with pudding powder create more thickness. It gets a consistency like a sweet syrup and gets little browny colour because of the cinnamon. Also the smell while the pie is baking is captivating! You'll feel the same, I can bet!

The cake is a great choice for a dessert for a party and also an amazing comfort food. We always sprinkle some icing sugar on top and sometimes we serve it hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Aww... the best!

This is the  P E R F E C T  summer dessert. It
looks great,
tastes even better,
you don't have to spend the whole day in the kitchen,
& there are used fresh, summer fruits from a local market.

(psst... & also the recipe is easy, everyone can do it, really. What more can we say?) Let's go to the recipe now!

Recipe

Prep time
30 min
Cook time
1 h in the refriegerator + 1 h baking
Total time
2 hours
Servings: 8-10 slices
Recipe type: dessert

Ingredients & instructions

Shortcake crust
200 g butter, cold
90 g margarine
45 g icing sugar, sifted
salt, pinch
450 g flour, sifted
3 Tbsp water, cold

1.       Preheat the oven to 190°C (374 F). Spread some butter in the tart pan.
2.       In a medium bowl mix all of the ingredients, except water.
3.       Next add cold water and mix.
4.       Place the dough in the foil and put in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
* Now you can prepare peaches.
5.       Divide the dough in two. Roll out one part of the dough and put in the pan and even out with fingers – it should be on the bottom and sides of the pan.

Peaches in cinnamon
1,6 kg peaches
¾ cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp vanilla sugar
80 g pudding powder, vanilla flavour
3 tsp potato starch

6.       Wash peaches and chop into 8 pieces each. Put them into a large bowl.
7.       Add sugar, cinnamon, pudding powder and potato starch. Mix well with hands or large spoon.

8.       Put peaches on the dough.
9.       Roll out second part of the dough. Place it on the peaches and stick with the sides of dough.
10.   Bake for 1 hour (190°C; 374 F) or until gold.

    * * *   N o t e s   * * *

    1. You can use fresh or canned peaches. If you use canned peaches, add less sugar - about 1/2 cup.
    2. It's necessary to place the dough in the refrigerator. The dough gets very sticky. When it's cold you can roll it out quick and easy.
    3. The dough on the top you can place as a 1 piece, rolled out. Or you can cut from the dough some figures with a cookie cutter. Like we did, we had stars this time on the top of the pie.

Thank you for reading the post! Hope you'll bake this tart soon! And we're waiting for your photos on #foodiesisterspl
